This is so incredible for 40 years later to be belting this song out...In all fairness the original recording...Street Corner harmony needs to be uploaded, I'm going to try and find it i believe this is One of The Greatest-Meanful Groups of Our Time...They should of been had a Tribute Long Ago...they didnt even use elecrticity for Street Corner harmony

I love this song. I have the Street Corner Symphony album and when I started my group in 1978 as 12 year old vacation Bible school students, this is one of the first songs we learned. And to this day, it's still one of the most requested songs whenever we perform. It has even more meaning for us because we are from and reside in Leavenworth, Ks. which is the home of the Buffalo Soldier. it's been our pleasure to know personally many of the Buffalo Soldiers who had stayed in our community.

Memalephyudth 1 of 2>Now, this the song that should have been in one of the Buffalo soldiers movies, because it tells the life story and struggle presented in most Buffalo Soldiers movies. How black producers missed this is beyond my understanding. My brothers and I used to sing this song right after suffering prejudices and misunderstanding in the military in the 1970's... it was very inspirational. In the late 60s my brothers and I had an acappella group, no one would give us a chance.

Memalephyudth 1 of 2>Then my cousin from VA, who is not passed, gave us The Persuasions, at that time they had another groups name, later after the confusion change it to the aforementioned name. We love the harmony which they produced, however, we knew that if we wanted to be recognized we would their style and created our own, however the need for draftees came and claimed most of our group I join the US Navy and it was over. I loved singing and created my own stuff. I still love this group.

I have had the pleasure of seeing Joe perform this live at BB Kings and The Turning Point and while it shows to much degree on this video, his brillance and the intesity of his passion in this song is overwhelming when sung live. Time and health is taking its toll on the Persuassion, but with postings like this they will continue to endure.

This one of my favorite songs!!!! I grew up listening to them and it is so touching that it brings tears to my eyes everytime I hear it. My dad and his friends use to sing this around the house and they sound just like them.
