The iPhone/iPad needs to be running iOS 4.3 (or higher)
iPhones running iOS 4.3 or lower need a mobile.me account.
There is no need to install "Find my iPhone" on the tracked device.
Here is a SS: i.joeylau.com/2011/06/13_09.57.48.png
And i have:
1x iPhone 3G
2x iPhone 3GS

Thats the moral of the story as continued from the part where the policemen asked their arrested suspect why he stole the handphone and he claimed that he was stressed and had no money
