the part where you chop the long straight piece of wood with your hand holding the end looks a little dangerous..I could see that going into your hand. I like the method where you hold the wood and bring it down with the hatchet at the same time better

sharp your axe , than it works mush easyer

good safety on the bowsaw but putting a little pressure on the back with your second hand shold stop the blade bouncing with all but the driest wood. It means you have to clamp your timber with your feet Another way is to hold high on the handle and remember you only cut on the forward stroke. Your normal length saw should be your arm reach plus the thickness of timber. Blades stay sharp for more cutting and its easier.
