From 1968, here are two performances of "Revolution" filmed one after the other and edited side-by-side. Filmed at the BBC tv show "David Frost", one version was made in PAL format (for the UK) and the other version was NTSC (for the US). When I used to watch this "video" I would notice that it wasn't quite the same as the last time I watched it. After some research, I found out there was in fact 2 different performance videos.
This video is edited together using copyrighted music and/or video from various sources. Use of these materials to produce this video is allowable under the "fair use" provision of U.S. Copyright law. .
i thought it was just me. i just used one video to edit a MTB bike video and i used a different audio track. unfortunately the audio is from a bootleg and isn't labled which take.
i believe that two takes were filmed using the same backing track. then they made two different versions but using clips from both takes. so neither video is a complete take all the way through but a mix of both takes. so 1 backing track, 2 film takes, 2 different vids, using cuts from both takes.

@glassonion909 Hiya Glass onion! It's definitely two performances. Look at George's position during John's first line. It's the same camera angle, but George is doing something completely diffferent. (There are numerous other examples). The reason they can cut two performances together and synchronise, is that the Beatles are singing live to a backing track. So the backing track provides a consistent speed between the two versions! ;)

@deepeemark just one performance. how the hell could they mimic the first take so closely. its just different camera angles, picture quality, etc.

The NTSC / PAL thing doesn't quite make sense. There are several shots that are 'exactly' the same amongst the two cuts (despite slight sync differences). My guess is two performances were shot, both PAL, and two edits were made - ensuring an 'exclusive' cut for The Smothers Brothers, and one for the UK. Just a guess! :)

2:33-2:49 priceless. I'd love to have that without the frame.

Paul had to do that cos John wouldn't be able to scream (thus emptying his lungs)and start the first verse in time. Besides, Paul adds a "woo" that wasn't in the recording.

This is nice! You can see one of them's a mime completely cos Paul is imitating John's scream!
