I saw this show in the national tour back in January, and they had the full version of this song. Shame they didn't have the Pekes and the Pollicles in there too, because I'm rather fond of that song, Oh well, I'm still really happy I got to see the full of Growtiger performed live, It's so funny, especially when it's really exaggerated XD

Well, yes. But it is, in my opinion, a true shame. In my experience, parents often take younger children to see Cats liv, myself being one of them longish time ago, and I don't think the aria appeals to them as much. I think they might prefer the idea of pirate cats. Having seen both, I must admit, I adore this version, but the other one was phenomenal when I saw it, and I can definitely see you point.

It's true that some people would confess a fondness for Billy M'Caw. That said, though I respect Andrew Lloyd-Webber's preference for this duet for Growltiger and Griddlebone, I think that perhaps the aria fits better into the scorei with its musical variation of the "Peaceful summer night" sequence.

I prefer the Australian version personally because they all try to be all piratey XD

I wish that Billy Macaw was left n all productions. :( but still, CATS is CATS! (And I looooove CATS!)
