iPad Cons (The Bad)
1) Too big
2) Very similar to the iPhone/touch
3) People can see what your doing on the iPad in public
4) Predators will want to steel it
5) Majority of the people want to carry smaller and more portable device, not big pieces of cardboard in their hands
7) Price is too high, just buy a netbook or laptop for less and have even more features/capabilities.
8) No protection. If you drop it, the screen can crack, get scratched, put it in a nonworking state.

Great post. The fact that so many people are against this technology means Apple is onto something big, lol. It comes down to change - progress isn't easy for some to grasp.
Still, I stated on DR BUK's page, Apple has a clever way of creating a need for its products. Not many can see the necessity of it at first. But as they build on the features and apps, consumers soon wonder what they did before this device.

i think the ipad looks good

I am happy to hear that you have incorporated this type of technology into your lifestyle. I think it will be the next BIG movement. Amazon is already making money with there Book Store and so Apple and other will want to get into the game. Software is what really sells hardware. I think this interface will sell a lot of iPads. The 32 GB iPad is $599

YOUR STUPID!! sure it sounds good theory but it will never work in practice. 1) It will cost way to much 2) people like paper 3) worst device ever made. WE HAVE LAPTOPS which are 100 time better. most people prefer to read of paper any way.

OR they could a laptop. 500 dollars cheaper!
What's wrong with just using a laptop? It does everything the iPad can do... and more. It's well established and well supported. Especially in regards to word processing.
You can take down notes, get software to record or stick a webcam on it to record if you like. Typing for notes is much quicker than what the iPad can achieve.
Laptops are a proven medium and very well established in our society. What does the iPad offer OVER or BETTER than a laptop?

I agree with you on all accounts except that I think an iPad will be a more comfortable device to use to read books. TV and Books are the final medium that Apple wants to deliver to us through computers and mobile devices. It makes since to move to a digital medium for books and newspapers. The problem is we need a comfortable device to make that move. I think the iPad is it. Just think of the time, money and resources saved by not Printing a traditional book.

I understand here yourcomin from, but you cannot forget that this TABLET MIGHT actually run an Iphone OS, so there could be a little dilema.

No doubt there could be limitiations to connectng it to an external monitor. External keyboards and mice should not be an issue via bluetooth.
As far as software programs, remember, Apple is moving towards browser based versions of iWork. That will play nicely with a device like this running Safari.
Now iLife is a whole different bag of tricks.
If this is a Hybrid device with both OS X and the iPhone OS merged as one, WOW! Now that would be Powerful!
