Extracted from the doco 'The Spirit of Australian Sport: Rugby League' this video takes a look at league in the 1970s. Covering international matches between the Australian Kangaroos and the British league teams as well domestic premiership and NSW Vs Queensland games. The video footage includes the great teams of Manly, Easts, St George & Parramatta and interviews with the likes of Harry Bath, Ron Coote, Greg Hartley and Tom Raudonikus. The video finishes off with the start of State of Origin.

  • I think rugby league started the world cup too early ... they should've waited until the game grew professionally, world wide first. and kicked it off in 1980
