Does anyone know about the musical Nell Carter co-starred in the 70s titled "Cindy" and where to obtain a copy please contact me. Thank you. It was the only production of an all black casted Cinderella story shown once. I was 18 - now 52 and it was never re-broadcasted. It was a magnificent production with A 4 star ratings and a treasure. Like so many great made-for-tv movies they're in the backroom. Queen of the Stardust Ballroom was another gem and hard-to-fined. Thanks for helping.

She has Billie Holiday's sense of phrasing and feeling and a tone and saltiness reminiscent of Dinah Washington...is there any BETTER possible combination!?

Still my favorite version of this song! Nell Carter really pulled out all the stops on this one.

Envy me, sweethearts. Envy me. I was living in New York City when "Ain't Misbehavin'" opened in 1978. I saw the show twice on Broadway with the original cast, which included Nell Carter, Amelia McQueen, Charlayne Woodard, Ken Page, Andre DeShields and Luther Henderson on piano. It was a life changing event for me. This song is, of course, from that show.

What a Goddess.... no other words fit!
every time this woman sings, i cry, and not only tears of sorrow, but sometimes tears of joy, she wakes my soul up, and she will be dearly missed
