  • wow that does sound terrible, maybe there is a way to adjust it. I had to fix a microcassette recorder that sounded just like that, and I made a video of that... but that was AC bias so idk :P NICE score on those tapes!

  • That recording sounds terrible. Maybe something's wrong with it. I just don't see why they'd make a machine that would sound like that originally. Try different tapes?

  • That is an interesting but cheap machine. They often used the DC bias! You can free up that rubber belt a little by coating it with graphite, or even talcum powder. The graphite is better as it will last a bit longer.

    HIHIHI when you are a kid taperecorders can be so much fun.

    I remember me and my sister spending hours recording silly stuff on my mum's old stereo.
