They are all descendants of Shem, Sharma, Shiya,..etc. Aram was a son of Shem. Damascus in Syria is translated 'Shem's town', or Damasq Al Shiya...Town of Shem. Assyrians are from Ashur another son of Shem, Syriacs are synonomous with Arameans, but more specific, IE Aram had 4 sons and they are dispersed in other areas of Asia., and Chaldeans, Kasidy, (Kassites?) were Arphachshad's descendants another son of Shem (through which Abraham is from).Chaldeans wound up in southern Mesopotamia...
