  • It sounds sick!

  • @SpecializedChild462 That's because the 24VDC on the NACs are not filtered, but rather FWR, causing horns like these to sound, as you would say, sick.

  • @weathermaniac1 What's FWR

  • @SpecializedChild462 FWR stands for full-wave rectification. Basically, you take an AC sine wave, put all wave crests on the same voltage (flip them), and leave it that way. So, essentially, you have 120 pulses of electricity per second, causing the horn to sound raspy.

  • hey, is there a way to change the pitch on that and the volume?

  • I don't believe there is on the 9833.

  • I dunno why but i really like the "raspy" sound of that horn. haha

  • I think they have one at my school, not 100% 'bout the horn because its partialy hidden by the plate, but it could be. Its disabled because an ADA compliant truealert is just across the hall.

  • This alarm system is at my doctor's

  • Love March Time!
