Thank you for sharing this rare footage, people of a younger age dont really know what the SADF was about, in particular the Koevoet Boys and their 'Hunter Killer' modus operandi..the South African Defence Force wasnt just about defence, they would actually track, hunt and kill their prey in a pro-active manner, those 'Terrs' didnt stand a chance

Respond to this video... One thing must be made clear, we did not lose against the ANC or Swapo or any of the allies such as the russians, chinense or cubans. We were sold out by our so called political leaders. As history can recall so did the American lerders did to their troops in Vietnam

@002Tchiputu WE DID NOT LOSE AGAINST THE ANC/SWAPO/FAPLA, WE WERE SOLD OUT BY OUR POLITICAL LEADERS SUCH AS THE AMERICANS IN VIETNAM

I was in 1 Bn. way after they disbanded you guys. You guys were legends. Col. Jan Breightenbach is still the best leader the S.A.D.F. ever had! EX ALTO VINCIMUS!

Why you guys fought swapo and ANC. If you guys were going to be the losers? That to me doesn't make any sense.
the full combat story of the pathfinders is told in their unit history 'The Pathfinder Company, the Philistines'. available from 30degreessouth.co.za

I'm sure that there are some ex-Recce chaps out there that will disagree with you, but I understand what you are saying, and I thank you on behalf of the men who gave so much for SA

We fought SWAPO because they were torturing, murdering terrorists. The fact that they are now running the country doesn't make them right. This is Africa.
