these nippondeso starters are so easy and cheap to fix. same as toyota too.

whats kinda funny my school in (ohio) has a mini van from canada and its in km and not miles and its standard 5 speed and its the only one i think anyone has around here

He converted it to a VW engine. Caravans never had diesel engines in the US although I think they used them in europe. Mitsubishi doesn't make diesel engines.

Mitsubishi does make diesels and even brought them to the U.S. I won't even argue this just wikipedia it.


Dodge Caravans are Mitsubishi chassis and Dodge body. The engines and trans are Mitsu especially these old ones. Because Dodge owned a large part of Mitsu Motors

Also there was a VW rebadged as a Chrysler in this time period. VW also made diesel.




And these vans did come diesel outta N. America

how about trying a VW selector & Shifter Cables to see if that work will. Since the tranny is a VW tranny, it may be possible that the cables are the same... The cable ends look the same to me...
