Images from Lintula, the only Greek Othodox convent in the Nordic countries...

A Youtube version (i.e. a very short, but concise mix) of a recording by YLE.

  • This is great, but they're hardly Greek Orthodox. This is a Finnish Orthodox convent, under Archbishop Leo of the Finnish Orthodox Church.

If anything, their artistic, musical and vestment style is Russian, not Greek.

  • Yes, the Finnish Orthodox Church is actually an autonomous Orthodox archbishopric of the Patriarchate of Constantinople (traditionally called Greek Orthodox) With its roots in the medieval Novgorodian missionary work in Karelia, the Finnish Orthodox Church WAS a part of the Russian Orthodox Church until 1923, hence the "Russian" influence.
