Cash for Clunkers- 1990 Chevy Astro (throws a rod)

this is the first real 'clunker' that i have had to do. it did run, albeit poorly and smoking a lot. the camera dude doesn't speak much English, he helps out around here sometimes. i believe he about shit his pants when it threw the rod.

I love the "super clunker for clunker" idea, now that would be the absolute best thing to come of this. Too many people are stuck with nasty things like that Astro, but can't afford the new ones

they need to have 'clunkers for superclunkers'. the poor citizens will suffer, they aren't in the market to buy a new car, they could use any of the nice vehicles getting blown up.

Yes this is one of the few true clunkers that was turned in. This is what the program was meant to get off the road. But too many people with decent cars too advantage of it.

cash for clunkers should have used Mileage and gas mileage as the criteria for trade in, say, 200k and under 16 mpg
