So I've had a couple people suggest putting springs in the back of the stilts to make the legs pop up more. I don't have springs, or the time or money to go out and get some so I though I would try using elastic.

I REALLY like the effect. I think it is a total improvement. This video is just a comparison to show what a difference it makes. The right leg has the elastic, the left does not.

So, in regards to the stilt tutorial I posted yesterday/earlier today, just rough up parts of the PVC pipe and hot glue the elastic to it. You won't need much and you can use the placement I show at the end of this video as a guide. =)

  • I'm making my own stilts and your videos really helped. Thanks so much! Now I have a question about the elastics. What kind of elastic did you use and where exactly did you put them to make the leg bend naturally?

  • @Lexita4 I'm really happy to help. And for the elastic I just used regular knit elastic that is 1" wide. As for placement if you pause the video at 0:47 then you can see pretty clearly where I placed it. =)

  • elastic

  • @ThoronWildCreations For sure! =P I already added elastic to the other one, I just wanted to show the difference. =) Unfortunately they keep popping up because I guess I am pushing it just a bit to far when I'm just standing. =/ i have to really work on how I walk so it doesn't happen.

  • can you run in them?

  • Never mind, I figured it out.

  • Can you PLEASE make a tutorial with the elastic? Cause I don't get it since I'm 12. And my parents won't help me. :(

  • in toata of getting a of the supplies is it really expensive??? also does it take a long time to make a quadsuit??? pease answer both the questions... thx!!

  • leg with elastic looks better

  • Personally, I think you should have attached the elastic to the front of the stilts. It might make them straighten better when you put them down.

  • Oh, awesome! This is the best design I've seen so far. =) Can you run in them? I've been doing some reading, and this one site said you can't run in jointed arm stilts. D: I'm looking into making a pair, so I'm curious. ^^

  • Thts really kool when r u gonna put fur on them?

  • @Arichelic i know XD i said use elastic. it looks good.
