  • Shame on AFGE for their radiation scare tactics! You'll do anything to get money!

WASHINGTON, March 22, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Federation of Government Employees, the union for Transportation Security Officers nationwide, today called on TSA to immediately begin a nationwide radiation monitoring program and provide TSOs with dosimeters to measure radiation output at the checkpoints.

  • This county is gone! When unions that always turn in to mobs take over the gov employees that WE THE PEOPLE pay for! Why should we PAY for this mess?

    I WILL NOT FLY!

  • If the pay raises are imaginary, why get your panties in a wad over a freeze? Name a single other occupation where a worker gets a guaranteed annual pay raise. Stop whining.

  • Hey John.......how does one get on with the Government. As A white man.....I've been unable to get on because of Affirmative action. I wish I could.....I check the Labor statistics and WOW.......government union employees are raking it in. Makes my measly roofing sales job look like peanuts. I pay for my healthcare, I don't get paid vacations, I don't get 13 paid holiday days off a year. Your people have it made!!!!

  • John, I suggest a joint action with NTEU-- feds take a few hours of annual leave to assemble in protest on the Mall. You can provide the leadership.

In France they'd be in the streets over this.

  • Republicans are always getting blamed for not supporting the working people, and look what happens. I am a government employee who actually works. I have to agree there needs to be cutbacks from within the system, but a better way would be to evaluate every government job to see which ones are necessary. Wonder what kind of raise the senators will get?

  • This just goes to show how gullable the average american is. This is nothing but a political scheme to try and get back in good graces with the american people. What they dont realize is that there is no substance to what obama is trying to do. As Mr. Gage stated we have never recieved 2.4 or 3.9% raises, at least not in the 13 plus years I have been with the gov. It's a damn shame that this is the best our country could do. Thanks obama, Thanks for nothing.

  • With the tons of federal employees who do little or nothing all day, the real solution is to lay off all those employees!

  • Most of the time pay raises just cover health care increases - my health care is going up $26.00 every two weeks. But maybe it will be covered by the tax cut of Social Security taxes from 6.2 to 4.2, oh but then it will get hit by the Federal, State and Local taxes, so maybe not - but you know these two moves alone will hurt the economy in the long run not help - the Presidents plan and Congress backing it just shows nobody thinks anymore - they are all puppets...

  • The private sector is under the impression that federal workers will receive a pay raise anyway because they do not understand step increases. Step increases only happen for the 1st three years of employment then it goes every two years, then three years till you hit the top. Congress is not receiving a pay raise for 2011, however it doesn't say anything about 2012 (so this is a scam for Congress to look good to the American public)
