Key quote from President Obama on the failed airline bombing on Christmas Day:
"In sum, the U.S. government had the information -- scattered throughout the system -- to potentially uncover this plot and disrupt the attack. Rather than a failure to collect or share intelligence, this was a failure to connect and understand the intelligence that we already had.

That's why we took swift action in the immediate days following Christmas, including reviewing and updating the terrorist watchlist system and adding more individuals to the "no fly" list, and directing our embassies and consulates to include current visa information in their warnings of individuals with terrorist or suspected terrorist ties.

Today, I'm directing a series of additional corrective steps across multiple agencies. " Distributed by Tubemogul.

  • We don't need to strengthen aviation. If we improve on our foreign policies maybe we can allies instead of enemies. We already have too many policies restricting the american people in the name of Homeland Security. We don't need to be locked away to save us. What we need to do is change the all the leadership and limit congressional terms.

  • There must be a good system for protecting and rewarding for informants. In order to achieve that, we need a good relationship with those communities and allow them friendly and anonymous communication tools. We must reach out to world community so they protect us and we protect them. Airport check points are just false sense of security. We must always probes Al CIA-da for the real picture of double crossing including the understanding of the selfishness of our CIA establishment.

  • @wonderwhaz797 Ha ha ha...Is that Bush talking?! funny and ignorant statment.

  • French Proverb

    Qui s'excuse, s'accuse ! ("He who excuses himself, accuses himself.")

    "We did not know Al-Qaeda can be so sophisticated" an important person in the intelligence business said just a few hours ago.

    "We did not believe Al-Qaeda can run double-agents" another important man said a few days ago.

    This Nigerian:

    1. Bought a ticket in a 3rd country;

    2. Paid cash about $2500 for it.

    3. Obtained the US visa in a 3rd country;

    1+2+3 alone would have prompted El Al to do the right thing.

  • I never heard Bush once say he was responsible for an error. Not for Iraq, not for Katrina, nothing. A leader who takes responiblities even for failures, is that not what a leader is?

  • Oh isn't that convenient. "Failure to connect the dots." Just like every so-called terrorist attack/plot. When will America wake up to this propaganda BS.

    Think about this for a minute: There are plenty of potential terror targets for a terrorist, but very few that provide the excuse to condition millions on a daily basis to dehumanizing scrutiny like the nude body scanners the gov't wants to implement. How convenient.

  • Reform Reform Reform, Blah Blah Fuckin Blah...Screw You Obama! Reformed is the reformer so quit boring us! We'd have more of a chance of change watching a dog run around in circles and fart. Obama for Change, yeah a few nickels in our pockets. Yes we can! Yes we can! Like the steam engine going up Mt. Everest. I think I can, I think I can, I thought I could, maybe I can, I don't know if I can, do you think I can, HOOOOOOOLY SHIT, Fuck that!.... Well, at least I'm a rich president tappin yo ass.

  • Dear Nobel Laureate:

    Why not to follow your election campaign promise and pull troops from the Middle East? This may reduce number of dots the impotent US Gov needs to connect. It may be your ticket for re-election, while your submitting to Pentagon and Goldman Sachers takes it away from you. Let's hope our friends in Europe will get arrest warrants for generals and CIA perpetrating criminal drone wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, killing endless scores of civilians.
