@canonicus1 The only people who signed this treaty are countries who didn't have the technology to design such weapons. Its really easy to Japan, France, Germany, etc to sign a treaty that doesn't cost them anything to comply with. Britain is the only one of those listed that had cluster munitions, and theirs were primitive anti-runway bombs that weren't stockpiled or heavily used to begin with.

Lets ban evil thoughts, because evil thoughts lead to evil action, and evil action causes the need for evil tools. In case you missed it, that was sarcasm.

I am all for banning munitions designed to look like dolls, toys of gifts (to injure or kill non-combatants, but I'm not going to ever support the banning of legitimate weapons, because it make people uncomfortable that some on might get hurt by its use. It is called war remember, if you want to push to the point I fight back, its gonna hurt.

what people don't understand is that cluster bombs are not targets of soldiers, but targets of civillians. They are made attractive and many of its victims involve Children. they need to be banned to prevent civilian death tolls.
