The Volturi is one super powerful family of twisted vampires that make their first appearance on the second movie of The Twilight Saga, "New Moon", and will torment Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and Bella Swan's (Kristen Stewart) lives till the end of the series.

These guys are like the unofficial royal family of the vampire world. They are the largest coven of vampires in existence and will do anything to protect the vampire world.
Unlike the Cullens, the Volturi are not vegetarians. They like to feed on humans. Lots of them.
The Volturi has 3 leaders - Aro, Caius and Marcus - they represent the coven and command the Volturi guard. Aro and Marcus have special powers - or as the vampires say are 'gifted'. Aro can read every single thought a human or vampire has ever had while Marcus can sense relationships.
