Stormy weather can follow times when tides peak. For instance, in January the tides were really high around Full moons at the beginning and end of that month and Auckland got rain at both ends of the month. In the troughs between the high tides, when tides were lowest, Auckland got rain exactly at those times too. This month the higher tides come back with the perigee around the 25th and there'll be rain in parts of NZ, WA and Ireland..
