Leica 14-50mm (f.2.8-3.5) on Panasonic GH1 (via 4/3 to m4/3 adapter) -BEWARE FOCUS PULL ISSUE-

Lens was stationary on stick, zoom fixed. Only focus is being adjusted in clip.

Crash zooming seems to occur upon pulling focus, this is not standard image shift.

  • Greetings. Can I ask does the aperture ring work with this combination of adaptor and camera. I have a GF1 and considering this lens, thanks ?

  • @dslrbasics Aperture ring worked like a charm, sublime build/optical quality. I regard it as a great lens for still images.

  • Yes it does, significant and unusable (in the context of film-making) 'breathing'. I'm unsure as to whether the GH2 is affected.

  • So the zoom changes when you pull focus?? Wow. I´ve never read anything about it with the GH2. Perhaps a GH1 issue?

  • yikes!

thats some serious breathing. Does the lens chatter while zooming while filming? Also to what focal length can you hold f2.8?

  • Shame, too -- as far as I know, it's the only fast 4/3s or m4/3s zoom with image stabilization.

  • Thanks for posting this, I was seriously considering this lens for the AF100.
