the bible is a ridiculous tale that was and is used to get control over people. it has no real value or affect on life and it shouldn't be referred to in any legitimate discussion. now, when it comes to hippies, well...how can you hate someone because they experiment with drugs? too afraid to try them and realize the truth yourself?

Anyone who says they hate hippies are completely hypocritical because hippies didnt believe in hate at all. They did what they thought they needed to do to get there point across. It's something more americans should be doing.

@PunkHippie1971 In order for someone to be hypocritical they have to contradict their own beliefs not someone elses. In other words, you can't call someone a hypocrite for stating an opinion that contradicts someone elses beliefs. I agree with what you're saying and i know your hearts in the right direction, but your word usage was a little off.

exactly. peaceful TO nature, not LIKE the nature. human emotions are to be sublimed, as in art. nobody can achieve unity, so your complaint is pointless. believers/atheists, drug/anti drug --- hippies are human beings, therefore, quite different. it would be a religion, an ideology or whatnot if they would all be the same. they needed a break/brake from that society, that's way they took the civilization's ways and beliefs and countered them - and that's why they're so different amog themselves
