For me this was singing in the grand manner and I was completely bowled over. Some folk are never satisfied. If this is 'past their prime' I cannot recall either singing much finer and I started opera going in the 30s and followed both their careers.

I really understand what you mean.... however, I do not know of any soprano who I can get all she sings... to be honest this is one of the main battles sopranos have, they dont work out on their pronounciation, Caballé is to me one of the worse but she sounds pure beauty.

Pavarotti was right. Giacomo Aragall was sick for many years. He is a very serious and humble man. The real artist who is the interpreter of the composition and role. Not that type of singers they only want to satisfy her own vanity! But unfortunately many people doesn't recognize this.
