Just FYI, when deer "Jump the String" they actually duck down and load their muscles for a fast first step. This was a pretty typical thing back when people were using loud bows, but with these new fast bows, the deer dont have time to jump the string unless its a long shot. Either way great buck!

And Wintersville has more than 5 pieces of property I can think of right off the bat that have a 120 or more acres. I have permission to hunt most of them. Actually between Jefferson and Harrison counties I have written permission to hunt well over 10,000 acres of private land.

You're hunting on the private farm east of the forest ranger station in Firnwood State Forest. It's behind GKL hunting Club, and east of Deer Run Trail where they have been logging. I use to hunt that farm in the 90's. Before the sold it.

@obb6300 That is where I'm from. Wintersville Doesn't have any 120 acre farms I can recall. You must be out around Firmwood, Broad Acre, Bloomingdale. Which is in Winterville School District. Unless your hunting Tearamana Right above Cool Hill.

your hunt was a success but I would recommend not grunting soo much..they will not react right away and seems like you were making/trying your techniques for too long. But hell, it worked!

There's no question that Nick LOVES to use his calls in the deer woods. That's the way he does it, and it seems to work for him. We don't all call that way, but Nick does, and that's the way he loves to hunt. Seems like you get a pretty exciting hunt when it does work.
