@aquican I disagree, french partridge fly slower than pheasants. Also english partridge are alot more demanding due to their irregular flight patterns. Grouse is the most testing of them all

Driven grouse is much much harder and better

CoreYxi, you shouldn't comment if you aren't well informed. Alectoris Rufa in Europe and in most SPanish Estates are completly WILD and not pen-reared. In other countries such as England and France they may be pen raised but are then set free in the Spring to mix with the wild birds and then used during hunting season. Get your facts in order before you make a fool of yourself.

@aquican red legs are pen reared actually.... and grouse are the most difficult birds to shoot once flushed.

Very nice! I am heading to Argentina shortly for the dove.
You bunch og ignoramous idiots. This type of hunting is called "Driven" These partriges (Alectoris Rufa) are the most difficult birds to shoot once flushed. These farms are armed just for this type of shooting, these birds are wild and not pen-reared.
It takes skill and lots of practice to down one of these birds, they are incoming at velocities beyond belief .
If you haven't tried it then don't knock it and go back up to your tree stand!

Please. Red legs are the BEST shooting of all except high pheasant. However all should remember that this is shooting, not hunting. An important distinction. I defend it as far superior to hunting in it's challenge to the shooter.
