  • @kls3915 Yes, I did! Last year was Hosanna to the Son of David and this year was Trumpets. Didn't make it this year. My county choir is doing Achieved is the Glorious Work by Haydn, which is the audition piece for next year. If you have time study up on it if you're a girl, because it's murder for both sopranos and altos DX!

  • @TheLestat94 Hey I'm in PMEA district chorus too, does that mean you did Awake the Trumpets Lofty sound this year? I'm a sophomore now

  • This song makes me want to rip my guts out. We had to do this for PMEA District Choir auditions my sophomore year. UGH.

  • @msgdobes you are right...I was the accompanist for a choir that performed this piece. The intro...for me was scary part...but after a bit I felt comfortable...and yes those triplets did take some working...on both the excution and the counting...as well as the 32nd notes in the intro...

  • My high school concert choir performed this piece for spring concert. I was accompanist. Our music director and I rehearsed accomp until he was pleased BEFORE being paired with the choir (choir was always a Capella during init rehearsals) . Yes, it was one of the more difficult pieces I performed , but I was told I didn't miss a note. Here, there is too much pedal. You can't hear the relentless triplets against the eighth notes, working up to frenzied triplets in both hands then octaves.

  • holy crap that was AMAZING!!! Thank you.

  • @namg062015 ...I am assuming she's a professional musician. She was not keeping time and hit a fair number of wrong notes. I am not saying I could do it better, far from it. What I am saying is that if I was paying her I would have a problem signing her check and would be looking for a new accompanist. It doesn't matter how hard the piece is, if you can't play it well then you need to go back to the wood shed. If your not professional enough to ensure you play it right, than you shouldnt be paid

  • fire that accompanist

  • The tenors tone is lacking. :P

  • omg look at that girl at 2:04 wtff
