The Bridge is a seven-minute digital video portrait. The footage was shot in Ocean City, an island connected to the New Jersey shore by three bridges. A tender visual narrative unfolds against a backdrop of dense morning fog that obscures the mainland, evoking a sense of the unknown, as boats, cars and bicyclists leisurely crisscross the scene. Movements are enhanced by diagonal, layered edits and complemented by long, continuous camerawork that describes the structure, reminiscent of the long, elegant brush strokes of Japanese calligraphy performance. The carefully framed compositions are supplemented by a series of digital effects and matched with a soundscape that marries the original sound with compositional elements.

The Bridge is the second digital video collaboration of visual artist Christina Lanzl, video artist / producer Leor Brenman and composer / musician / filmmaker Robert Pehlke.
