Coliseum Mall was a medium-size shopping mall located in Hampton, Virginia. It was located in the middle of the peninsula in the "Coliseum Central" commercial district of Hampton, adjacent to the major highway interchange of Interstate 64 and Mercury Boulevard. The site is now finishing development as the Peninsula Town Center.
The existing 1-million square foot Coliseum Mall has been redeveloped into the Peninsula Town Center. This 75 acre redevelopment project is strategically located immediately adjacent to I-64 in the center of the Hampton Roads region. The Mall is being transformed from a deteriorating enclosed mall into a vibrant mixed-use town center and is expected to become a regional shopping, dining and entertainment destination. Mall Properties has partnered with Steiner + Associates, the pioneers of the authentic urban town center concept, to develop this over $200 million project. The town center encompass nearly one million square feet of mixed uses including +/- 762,000 square feet of retail, dining and entertainment situated around a town square and a public park. Upper story uses include a cinema, boutique office space, and residential. For more information about this project please visit www.steiner.com.
