if you trawl the archives you will find a Jonathan Ross interview with John Lydon - late 80s b4 Ross "reinvented" himself as a "punk". If memory serves he clearly states he had never seen Lydon live - roll the film on to the mid/late 90s and Ross claims he was a punk who saw the Pistols live - go figure.

@CONSIDERABLYMORE1 as for the drums being better than smiths.sorry but the smiths have by far hundreds of top notch songs than the drums will ever dream and will never have.and you that's true.
@chacho6011 no, as I am sure Morrissey would agree, they are The Drums, and are far better than The Smiths. The Smiths lacked the soundscape experimentalism of these guys. The Smiths are The Drums + Dave Formula or Billie Currie.
