In a letter dated September 29, 2008, Chad Hardy, producer of the infamous Men on a Mission Calendars and www.MormonsExposed.com website, received a letter from Mormon-owned Brigham Young University informing him that he had been deleted from his August 15, 2008 graduation, and would not be awarded his BA degree in Communication Studies because of he was excommunicated from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on July 13, 2008, a month before graduation.

All of his required coursework had already been completed prior to the church discipline, and was not required to abide by the schools strict Honor Code because he finished his coursework online from his home in Las Vegas, NN. His only recourse given to get his diploma was to come back to full fellowship with the LDS Church.

Brigham Young University failed to follow their own policies and procedures in disciplining Hardy and revoking his degree. This series of videos are the actual recording from the official University Review with BYU Dean of Students, Vernon Heperi.

Two weeks later, Hardy was denied an exception from BYU policy and will not be awarded his degree.

  • mormons do not have standards. they have outlandish, extreme, radical standards that don't promote morality--they promote censorship and repression of natural feelings and emotions. fuck you.

  • that is utter bullshit.

Denying a student his diploma just because he blew a kiss to his mom.

The administrators should be taken to court over what happened.

If the student wins the lawsuit, he should get his diploma and his resume` fixed so it doesn't say he had to go to school an extra year to get his diploma, if need be.

  • Vernon Heperi is a complete fuckwit for taking away Chad's hard-earned degree. By doing so, he has stolen years of Chad's efforts and in doing so damaged BYU's reputation by showing what an authoritarian hypocritical so-called univerisity it really is. Anyone that has ever read the words of Brigham Young knows that he was a racist spiteful polygamist that would have failed the honour code a thousand times

  • Church bozos are continually wiping egg off their face.

  • Whilst BYU has the right to set standards, how can they withhold a degree after a student has dedicated years and paying thousands of dollars. That is so completely wrong and they deserve to lose their tax status. Nor should the LDS church fund them with hard earned tithing dollars.

  • @euphoria191 You are a complete idiot!!

  • He fucked up, clear and simple. hope people will see his mistake and learn, don't fuck with the honor system.

  • What about all the men getting women pregnant at BYU it has the nations largest illigitimate pregnancy rate. Maybe they should withhold their diplomas for or is fornication less of a crime then producing a calendar with mens chests. Fing amazing what the Mormon church gets away with.

  • I really thought Chad made a good case. A technicality seemed to get him and they seem to be within their legal means to withold his degree. I didn't like how the Dean was spinning the questions, but I understand he has his job to consider. Also, there is no doubt that it's obvious Chad was being difficult and not helping his case whatsoever. I don't believe they would have given him his degree if he had "passed" the Dean's interview anyways...

  • I agree. its only obvious...

  • BYU is an embarrassment to higher education. It is disgusting to listen to this official talk himself in around in circles.

Any future students should stay as far away from BYU as possible.
