You do realise that American English is itself diverse? If one goes to New England, the accents you hear there are by far and large what the English sounded like then. If you go to the south and happen to find one of those rare upper class southerners, you're hearing an accent that was what your lower Aristocracy sounded like.
In short, American English in the eastern half is in many ways language that didn't change with time. And yes, you're a weeabo.
