Once every 7-10 years, the Jungle Cruise elephants are given a "check-up," which takes about 7 weeks. When her refurbishment is complete, she will return to the Jungle Cruise and will once again be what the skippers call, "the largest and most feared animal in our jungle - the mother-in-law!" That would be so scary suddenly looking up and seeing an elephant just flying through the air..

Urban myth? ... eh, oh sorry, jungle myth? .... An elephant cannot jump at all. Would break it's legs. (look it up). But they can "walk-run" without the jumping movement (40km/h). By the way, 5000 lbs is a baby elephant. The African elephant averages between 3000 - 6000 kg , = 6600 - 13000 lbs... The heaviest ever recorded was near to 26500 lbs

i take it you have never seen Disney's Wonderfull World of Color hosted by "uncle"Walt himself. occasionally He would have an episode that would look at the behind the scenes"magic" of upcomming new attractions of Disneyland Like Pirates Haunted Mansion.

Crow #1: Did you ever see an elephant fly?

Crow #2: Well, I've seen a horse fly.

Crow #3: Ah, I've seen a dragon fly.

    Crow #4: Hee-hee. I've seen a house fly.

Now I've seen everything now that I've seen an elephant fly

I like when the skippers say about the first elephant:

"You'll never see any of those ever again!"

And then when the boat gets to the 2nd elephant:

"And that? That's a polar bear."
