A drive down Bay Drive in Kill Devil Hills, NC three days after Irene. This is one of the most devastated areas on the northern beaches. Video quality near sunset doesn't do it justice, will try to shoot again when it's brighter outside.
@benjie414 first, the guy wearing the Duke shirt did not lose any possessions...he was one of the lucky ones...he's crying because his neighbors lost much, some lost everything, including their livelihood. second, what the heck does wearing a Duke shirt have to do with having empathy and compassion for those who suffered the devastation of a hurricane? Third, if you want to post any more idiotic comments, do it somewhere else.
You passed my sons on the four wheeled bike... yes Bay Drive was shockingly bad and the water came up further then it ever had before about three blocks which is all the way to Lee Street...it is a little over a week now and they almost have the yard debres cleared...the trash on the side of the road is everybodies piers that had slamed into there homes. Alot of locals could not evacuate due to not enopugh money...we didn't take the risk so we went inland all the way to Ten.
it figures a guy wearing a duke shirt would cry about losing possessions.

all of the mounds of stuff along both sides are debris from the sound and damages from the houses and other structures.
