There aren't many steep hills where I live, but I found one to demonstrate the relative power of this little Geo. I needed some small concrete slabs from Home Depot, so we stopped and bought 20, for a total weight of 340 pounds of concrete. They're in the trunk. The little Geo managed to climb this hill relatively easily. We didn't set any speed records, because, after all, there were twists and turns going up the hill, as well as other traffic, and houses nearby. But we managed to maintain 30 mph up the hill. This Geo doesn't have a V8... all it's got is three small cylinders, and they did very well getting me up this hill!

  • So, what is the purpose of having that concrete in the trunk?

  • @pelepihuamo- Did you read the video description?

  • damn that car did pretty good. auto? 5spd?

  • Considering the car has a tiny 3-cylinder motor that can be lifted by two people, it did quite well running up this hillside.

This particular car was a 5-speed. I've run similar tests up the same hill using automatic Geos, with similar results.

  • yep got a 94 suzuki swift (same as geo metro) with a 3 cyl 5 spd, wish it was convertible but it's great on milage

  • At the moment, I have three convertibles, one XFi and I just bought two 92 Metro LSi hatchbacks last week. My XFi is on ebay at the moment.

  • @CincinnatiGifts Do you know if there are any body kits out there for sale? I dont mean spoilers or side skirts, I would like something to re-body the whole car. There is an ATV called Joyner Renegade that looks like a Hummer, and I've been wanting to buy the front end and put it on my geo. If I ever do it I'll post a video of the process.

  • @CincinnatiGifts Ok, I got it now. I thought they were being used to squash down worn out shock absorbers or for handling purposes, but now I know. I'm a BMW guy, but when gas hit $4.75 in 2008 I bought an LSi convertible, and used it as my daily commuter. I still have it and don't want to sell it, back in my high school years I had a brand new 1994 XFi 2 door hard top, and that one gave me better MPG than the LSi, but still the Metro is the best way to save gas without buying a new car.

  • I had close to 800LBS of plaster I took to the landfill in a metro the scale attendant looked a little perplexed when see scaled the car after I dumped the plaster, drove away only $10 poorer as opposed to $35 for a pickup

  • Close. It's actually climbing Eight Mile Road hill in Anderson Twp, heading north towards Beechmont Ave.
