A self-indulgent video featuring and dedicated to my two favorite subjects, my dogs, Godiva and Mojo. Godiva is a 14-year-old Bichon Frise I've had since she was six weeks old, and Mojo is a 5-year-old Australian Shepherd x Border Collie mix that I found as a stray last year. I love them both very much....
**Edited to add: Godiva sadly passed away at the age of fifteen years, five months, and seven days on November 6th, 2008 as the result of end-stage renal failure and clustered grand mal seizures caused by an inoperable brain tumor. She is missed tremendously. Even after 15+ years, I still can't believe how lucky we were to have her in our lives at all....but the time still went by far too quickly. This video is dedicated to the beloved memory of my sweet, wonderful Godiva...there will never be another dog like her.

  • This is a very sweet video. I am 20 and have had my Bichon, Popcorn, since he was 6 months old (now 11 1/2) so I have had for over half of my life. We've slept in the same bed for 11 years and he is the reason I commute to college instead of living in the dorms. I can't even imagine the sadness I will experience when he passes away. Though it's been over a year since Godiva passed away, my heart goes out to you. There's no other dog like a Bichon.

  • @kkkatiie Thank you so much for watching our video, and for your kind sympathy and understanding. Indeed, there is no other dog like a Bichon...

  • @kkkatiie ..my story is very similar to yours, since I got Godiva as a puppy when I was 13, and she died 15 1/2 years later, so I had her for just over half my life, as well. She also went everywhere with me (school, work, play, travel, bed, etc.)...

  • @kkkatiie ...so I truly appreciate and admire your efforts to keep Popcorn with you in college when so many other dog owners simply give up their pets due to lack of time or interest--but I can only assume that those people have never really known the love of a Bichon. :)

  • @kkkatiie Please do continue to cherish your time with Popcorn now, because I can attest that the years will pass by so much more quickly than you could ever imagine. The only flaw in having such a beautiful creature as a Bichon in our lives is that they don't live nearly long enough, but the precious little time we DO have with them is more than completely worth the lasting heartbreak they will give us.

  • @kkkatiie I wish you both many, many more years of happiness together! Thank you again for your comments. (BTW, so sorry for the multiple posts, not sure why YouTube limits the character count so severely.)

  • @SpotSwims: Thank you!! Mojo and Godiva loved each other very much...I thought their personalities and activity levels were a particularly great combination. How great that you have a Bichon and a Border Collie, too!!! Thank you for the comment!

  • @iplehguitar : It's called "Does your heart weep," by Ruth Gerson. I thought it was very appropriate to symbolize my sadness over losing Godiva. Originally, the music I had for this video was John Prine's "Hello in there," but when she died, I changed the music. Thanks so much for the kind comment.
