Don Gibson When Your House Is Not A Home

To me, Don Gibson was one of the true greats. Apart from his songwriting ability he also made many great country records. This is an extremely sad song written by Roger Miller who strangely wrote many of country music's happiest songs. Great performance by Don on this song that's enough to make you want to put your head in the gas oven if you live alone.

I think that after Marty Robbins, Don was my favorite Country singer of the 60's making so many great records and writing so many Country classics. I know Don appeared with Marty on his 'Spotlight' TV show and to see these two fantastic talents together was a real treat. Shame that Don's personal life was such a mess.
