Gacaca Justice - Rwanda

Rwanda's Gacaca courts have become a model for a peaceful society. 15 years after the genocide and with thousands of culprits sentenced by the courts, is Rwanda ready to surmount its tragic history?
At a Gacaca court in Southern Rwanda, a women accuses a man of "killing my husband and nephews!" Yet the main witness defends the accused: "I didn't see him until we came to Kabuga". The witness has been imprisoned for genocide killings himself but after repenting, he was granted early release. As a minority, the Tutsis knew they had to create a justice system, revolving around reconciliation. The gacaca courts have proved to be the answer: "We feel we should run faster, and get this country to greater heights" says the chief of police, "there is quite a lot we missed during the genocide".

It's so easy to sit in your luxuries and blame us Africans for what hapenned in Rwanda, but truth be told, the Belgians are also to be blamed for the genocide that occured in Rwanda, they divided the tutsi's and hutu by giving special treatment to one group over the other (Divide and conquer). Thus they are also very accountable for the worst atrocity to happen inAfrica. Like i mentioned, its so easy to sit and blame, but accepting responsibilty is very hard. Divide and conquer ruins us!~

These people can not be allowed to simply join the international community. What kind of monsters would we be if we allied with those that attempt to genocide their societies problems away. We should only ally with moral governments like GERMANY (holocaust), ISRAEL (palestine), JAPAN (Nanking), and USA (native americans).

It's human nature to manipulate and being manipulated. It happens everywhere at any time, it just not always ends up in a genocide. Blaming each other, the colonialists, the made up races that actually don't exist or some rich country's economy won't help to solve this really bad habit that we all always want revenge for something. There we need to change, in our minds. It is a long and hard road to go. I just badly hurt my little toe and I did not think "Oh, damn it, I gotta kill this door!"

@ognamas .. .the same kind of monsters that have always joined the international community.. Like most of the white international community: Americans (slavery/destroyed the Native Americans), Germans ( all the blacks they killed or forced to leave the country, before they killed the 'Jews'), All of europe (colonized and robbed Africa and still robbing Africa now).... just to name a few.

I remember Julius Malema Saying that he believes its outsiders that is instigating the south Africans murder of black Africans Foreigners.Watching this documentary and remembering that the Hutu/Tutsi Massacre was instigated by whites makes me think that maybe he`s right.It could be another divide and conquer tactic to keep south Africans attention away from the thieving leaching whites in South Africa who leach off of Africa's resources.Whites are known to use divide and conquer tactics.

@ognamas not to mention that germany actually 2 holocaust under its name.Dr Meng.ele's son was the Dr they sent to Southern africa in 1905.when they beat the autochtones they proceeded to build huge Gaskammer like those in Dachau, thats' where they wiped out 90% of the local ethnicity.When they found the killing machine work well.they tend set up similar gaskammer in Germany.Basically the J.ewish holocaust is linked to the southern african one.facts are online.
