The problem with the Tate is that the "artists" involved feel they must be so utterly abstract they all end up by way of some sort of comical justice, being the same. The value and meaning of any/all kinds of successful art has and always will be eventually ruined by snobbery and elitism.

Imagination is free. It is free in all forms of art, and that is what art (to me) stands for - having no forms/limits/barriers, with reason, and passion it can to ulimit power become art. So I dont support the stuckists - who say they are alike to the impressionists - even thou they are what the public in the impressionist time first and 'HATED' about the newness and distracting identity for which those (Impressionists/Conceptualist/
YBAS) hav done. Stuckist put less freedom in the art world. -

@kwakedesigns one of the first books I read

Read JOHN BERGER - 'WAYS OF SEEING'
Loving stuckists the more I hear about them, but do they also classify great sculpture as art? I'm all for much stricter rules on classifying art (just like music vs. sound are clearly defined), but I think sculpture, depending on the piece, should definitely fall in the art category.

@andid Yes! "Sculptors who don't sculpt aren't sculptors"...

It appears that there is one side who values the timeless art of painting while rejecting most other media and the other side who reject figure painting because of the appeal of new media. Both sides have unattractive perspectives. There is good art and bad art but to reject any prospect of something being art is just a state of ignorance.

@dustXiron Unless of course you reject it from a state of knowledge.
