Controls: Hold RB or R1 while shooting the ball, ideally 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 bars of power depending on your distance from the net.
The Curve Shot is a very effective entity in FIFA12 and is extremely vital to having a potent attack from all areas on the pitch.
You can use the Curve Shot from just inside and outside the box, and always aim for the far post. By doing this, you will "curve" the ball around the keeper and into the back of the net.
The Curve Shot is effective in two key scenarios. In FIFA12 I have noticed my opponents tend to pull their keepers out more than in the past and the Curve Shot is a simple way to score in this instance. A lot of people tend to panic when the goalie is flying towards them and either try to rip a shot past the goalie by simply hitting B, or they try to get fancy and attempt to chip the goalie which is making things way too difficult on themselves. By simply taking one side step and getting the ball on the players dominant foot, a Curve Shot can be played around the goalie and into the back of the net with ease.
The second instance where the Curve Shot is extremely effective is when you are attacking the box and have the time and space to let a shot fly. The key is to aim for the far post and to strike the ball with enough power to curve the ball around and over the goalies outstretched arms. In almost all cases around the box (just inside or outside) 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 bars of power is perfect.
You can score numerous goals this year on the Curve Shot and it is all about practice and timing. When the Curve Shot is struck perfectly with the correct aim and power, the goalie simply cannot dive far enough or high enough to prevent the ball from finding the back of the net.
