Keep a eye on your land for any evidence of people or the government planting/growing "Pot" on your land. Big Brother is always flying around looking for plots of "Weed" growing on private land, there was a farmer in Illinois arrested for pot growing on his land, and the pot had been tied down so it would grow low and go unnoticed.

The government has been broadcasting "Reefer" seeds from the air on private lands along the path of the "NAFTA" highway proposed route, so that they can arrest land owners and confiscate the land for the eventual construction of the superhighway they have been trying to build!
Thats why i made the "Reefer" joke about the non-"Weed" growing just to the back of your hive.
-
I also noticed that you have Eastern Red Cedar in your part of the country, i want to build some Top Bar Hives in Cedar, how about finding a local sawmill that cuts cedar planks and let me have there name, address and Phone number.
As a favor from one beekeeper to another beekeeper!
-
By the way, If nobody else will say it "Nice Hive", sell me a load of those field stones, i could make a fortune selling them here in North Houston for peoples rock gardens and building projects!
-
@saioznik You idiot, rattlesnakes only rattle when they feel threatened, the beekeeper is providing information on his experience with this type of hive, and also what the nectar flow is in that part of his area. All very important info to those who keep bees. So if you dont like his posts, go the F@@k some where else, youtube is not just a place for entertaining videos but a place for people to share information and ideas!

Dude, is that Reefer growing at the front of the hive. Put some of that in the smoker, you and the bee's will be much more mellow.
And for you idiots, the sound in the background is a Locust, which is a bug, not a rattlesnake, you morons need to stay in the city where you are safe and well kept by the government welfare programs.

cool hive. mine are different

do you use a starter strip on your top bars?
From the looks of the rocks, you are in the hill country somewhere. You must have one hell of a nectar flow in that part of Texas. I have been thinking of moving some hives to a property in Medina, Tx. What are the bee's feeding on for that 2 month old hive to look that good?

@bmcclure0561dad The big flow is indian paint brush that comes just after bluebonnets fade. The fall flow is goldenrod and broomweed. in Sept/Oct. Right now, we are in the worst drought in 60 years. So i'm feeding.

There is a top cover. I simply didn't show it in the video. I guess your first language isn't English.

I'll do my best. I've noticed a shortage of good TBH vids, I will try to make future vids more instructional. Also, I will be traveling around the world this year, and I hope to visit some beekeepers who use TBH in Africa and get some video.
