This video shows a short footage of me playing my Swordmaster (27) and a friend of mine playing his Runepriest (20) while taking on a 6-9 Public Quest (Mobs lvl ~27).
Nothing ~special~ but it clearly shows the advantages of this class combination. You'r able to tank&kill alot, to do 6-9 and 9+ public Quests with 2-3 players if necessary and have lots of fun while walls of Monsters clash against the tank.
I'm playing with the german client. Game Version 1.2.1
I'm concentrating mainly on STR, secondly Defense(fix reduction) and some extra Life,
my friend (Runi) goes for full Willpower with some extra Life.
Sadly we didn't win this one, although it was possible and we almost made it. My friend died 2x times while facing the last stage (with the Hero) because of his lvl that was simply too low. I had to concentrate on the Hero and some hits from any of the normal monsters did the trick for him. -.-
Well what's left to say, of course it doesn't make my SM a full-fledged DD but it's a blast in PvE and (situation depending) in PvP, espacially Scenarios so far. However don't think you can use the offensive tanks potential without a Healer Friend that keeps especially your HP-Bar in Focus, given the possibility that alot of those mobs could crit simultanously, same for hard heros, your survivability is just not as great as a full defensive tank (even by equip bonus alone), although i don't see any grave difference in using a shield or not untill now (29). The only big difference is that you can't use some nice defensive spells and miss some armor and the Block-Chance to nullify any damage dealt. No clue how it will change in the higher lvls, but for now im optimistic and pretty happy with my build. So far i had no problems tanking any Heros, be it public Quest ones or the Lord of the Keeps. =)
Edit: Ah yes, and of course you can create lots of sweet aggro with such a build and often don't need the "Pull Aggro" Spells.
great discussion :P every tank with 2handed spec can do very well dmg .
even with one hand some classes are pretty good..depends on the tactics you have and so one.. every 2handed spec tank can do slightly 1200 dmg ,its not a big deal with the right wquipment, and you taunt spell ;)
theoretic ftw

It's great Defensive capabilities and quite nice offensive power, regardless on what you concentrate, thats a pretty big advantage for the Healer disrupter role. They can't afford to ignore you but they can't kill you quick enough to not influence the frontlines when focusfiring either. You don't have to be perfect, you just have to play well and take a role your suited for, and that are many with this class =)

yep, the SM is not a full fledged DD and even though he can tank well in my opinion, the other 2 Tank Classes just are kinda better suited for tanking. However because of that the SM is very versatile and can fill in very different roles which could excel any other classes capabilities. I don't know any other class that can create as much aggro, even in AoE, as a tank class and there is no better class in my opinion, to disrupt Healers.

So i had to re-skill to Vaul and Aetheric Armor to be able to keep up with the brutal damage dealt in the T4 dungeons.
Dungeon Teams are mainly based of 2 Healers, 2 Tanks and 2 Damage Dealers and theyre are plenty of DDs in War, so i guess im stuck with my Defensive build for some time.
However i guess i'll reskill later on Khaine for Scenarios and ORvR, because its enough anyways to tank all the normal stuff, just commander and dungeon mobs don't work well without def-build.

However now with lvl 39 in T4 thats a different story. Around 40% of the player you encounter in Scenarios and ORvR wear the nice and shiny endcontent Sets, you won't for some time ... and 1-2 caster classes alone smash you like a potato if you get afocusfire by a small group of players.
I liked my Khaine build with Hoeth's Aetheric Armor, but it just doesn't work that good in T4 anymore, until you get a decent set yourdelf.

Did pretty much the same, as long as you got a Healer friend that keeps espacially your health in Foucs you can "dance" between the enemies. If then focusing on their healers you can get like all the healers to heal the one your attacking and your group is slowly gaining ground.
