Breakin' The Law: Festival of Urban Movement (BTL) is Wisconsin's first and only international break-dancing competition. BTL is an international urban movement festival organized through King's Eye View Productions in association with the UW-Madison Break-dance Club. Since going international in 2004 the competition has grown into a four-day festival featuring dance competitions with teams from around the world, exhibitions, film screenings, workshops and panel discussions. This year's series of events will be held between April 20th-April 24th 2011 at various locations throughout downtown Madison. All events are open and free to the public.

Madison, Wisconsin (April 20, 2011/5pm - 11 pm) - The Old Skool Cipher Showcase will be held at the Memorial Union Great Hall and will feature a live art gallery by the UW Madison Urban Graphics class, DJ Exhibitions, and a Screening of PopMaster Fabel's Documentary Apache Line: From Gangs to Hip Hop with Fabel on had to engage the crowd in dialogue after the film. The event will also feature all international crews in a break-dance exhibition to kick-off the festival.

(April 22-23, 2011/4pm - 11pm) - The largest international break battle in the Midwest will be held at the Monona Terrace Grand Ballroom. The main competition event will feature an international dance competition with categories including: Breaking, Popping, House Dance/Footwork, All Styles, and Bgirl 1x1. The main competition brings in crowds upwards of 2,000+ per day of those new to and experienced in Break-dance culture.

Breakin' The Law has gained international notoriety since being featured in the documentary Break Borders 2 at the Hong Kong Film Festival. BTL has recently expanded into China holding a 2010 and 2011 qualifier in Hong Kong. The organizers of BTL hope to further diversify the festival, holding qualifier rounds for future competitions all over the world. Co-directors of the festival, Katrina Flores and Jarius King, say, "This festival moves the art form forward by engaging the community in created a movement dialogue that builds off of the cultural experiences of the youth who invented Hip Hop in the South Bronx
