For the people who dont know who AYND RAND was or is,she wrote "El Manantial",which talks about the life of 2 architects...its a MASTERPIECE and this info is just for those who have guts... who seek for TRUTH during there lifetime.

I agree with Gehry but I have reservations about advising anyone to worry about software. That's later.

What any young arch student should do as much and as often as possible is touching a real live pencil, dragging it over real live paper and learning to LOVE drawing!

You will love architecture one way or another if you can develop a love for drawing. I'm an architect and it's taken me 30 years to learn that the only true love of architecture is the love of art. Everything else is just work.

Tread carefully. Anyone who can't appreciate the emperor's new clothes is a bloody philistine.

Yes, I truly believe in his view. Architecture almost seems dictatorial in its teaching of the students. We can learn from the past certainly and architects must consider the social and environmental context and consequence of their intent in everyway possible because that is what architecture is essentially about, but you can't tell a designer, a creator, how to solve a problem by laying out a sequential process like a math question.
