Cynthia, I still remenber seen you practicing violin at TEI using those rubber band. well I used it too and sometimes I use it with my students as you say to show where is the elbow position. and it's very interesting to see and listen the big and clear tone they produce.

This is very informative video about Dr. Suzuki's teaching. Whether you agree or not with this idea you can see that he was trying everthing he could think of to get students to bring their ebows out in front of the violin so the bow could access the strings. Bring the bottom of the ladder closer to the bridge and get the elbo under the hand that is lifting the bow.
Great video example I wish I could find more like this. Can't wait to share with my students.
Interesting. Just be careful that she doesn't shoot one back at you when you're not looking.
