What happened to her sister Marion and were they twins? Both looked so much alike and with so much talent. I believe that what she said about marriage is quite true - It is a father's greatest duty to their daughter to set an example for their daughters the kind of man a daughter will marry - If he is a drunk that is what his daughter will marry - Men do not realize how important a role they play.

Why was she hurting so bad? We all have terrible things in our lives. I think coping is an art and some people are not good at it. Some pretend to cope, some actually do. But when you start drinking, taking pills, etc., your coping mechanism is shot. Strength is inherited..I believe that. Some are strong and some are weak. You can't learn that. It has to be there at birth.

What the hell does "Despite her age" mean? 56 is far from old...good lord what are you a 12 year old?

The interview took place the day before Betty's 56th birthday. She's still seen very beautiful despite her age.

Was there anybody Mike Douglas didn't have on his shows? This is great. She never mentions her sister Marion who struggled growing up with her,and performed with her .
