How to Toast Nuts in the Oven

Things You'll Need
---------------------------------------------------------------------

* Coarsely chopped nuts
* Chef's knife
* Baking sheet
* Timer

Step 1: Prepare the Oven and Nuts
---------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Adjust your oven racks such that one is directly in the middle of the oven.2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C). 3. Coarsely chop your nuts.4. Spread nuts evenly over your baking sheet. Use your hands to ensure the nuts are well spaced.

Step 2: Bake
---------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Place your nuts into the oven after it has maintained 350
°F (177°C) for at least ten minutes. Put the baking sheet on the rack in the middle of the oven.2. Set your timer for seven to eight minutes.
3. Check on your nuts once the timer goes off. Use your nose to tell when the nuts are done. If the nuts offer a nice aroma, they are likely ready to remove from the oven. If the nuts are not done, check on them at one-minute intervals. Most nuts will be finished toasting after 10 minutes in the oven.
