Mega Man 9 - Wily's Castle Boss #3

Fight against the third boss of Wily's Castle.

Phew, this one's tough mainly because I got trigger happy with my jumping. However, it's fairly easy if you just learn the patterns of the blobs, they never actually change.

Black Hole Bomb is the weakness, obviously.

It was tough, I had to use that Mystery Tank in the middle there because I kept messing up my jump timing.

Once you learn the blob patterns though it gets easier.

Did this boss buster only and no damage. Here's the pattern:

Let the first two green blobs pass, jump over the next two. Let one green blob pass. Shoot at the core once it passed over you (don't shoot while it's flying towards you). Jump over the next two green blobs. All of this is done in the center of the platform. Next you move away from the green ball, jump over the lower one towards the center, jump over the next one and immediately run away from it again to jump over the last orange blob.

Beating this boss the first time cost me 6 E-Tanks and an M-Tank.

I am not joking.

After a few tries I thought this boss was the easiest in the game. Wait, jump twice, hit the core, wait, jump twice, run towards the lower blob, jump three times away from the lower one. Repeat until dead.

I did this boss with the megabuster and zero damage, and seriously, I have little platformer skills.

this is the hardest devil in the megaman series, the original devil is nothing compared to these things

I struggled defeating this guy when I was trying to achieve No Coffee Break and I found that getting "down jump jump down(shoot) jump jump down, jump jump jump" stuck into my head helped a lot.
