is it legal to fish in srp canals?
lilbeaner602 8 months ago
@lilbeaner602 Yes, it is legal to fish in the canals with a valid Arizona state fishing license. However, the White Amur is classified as a catch and release only by the state. So the Amur are legal to catch, but must be returned to the canal. SRP works closely with Arizona Game and Fish to address the loss of White Amur to fishermen. Theft of white amur from the canals can be reported to Arizona Game and Fish, Operation Game Thief, at (800) 352-0700.

ive noticed theres bass and catfish in the cannals and bluegill. when u net these species do u get rid of them or put them back into the cannal?

@Maddawgbaits Those fish are also relocated, along with the white amur, to other canals that are not part of the dry-up.

How many grocery carts do you pull out of the canals during the dry-ups?
tonerduckpin 1 year ago
@tonerduckpin We don’t have scientific numbers, but the person in charge of our canal dry-up crews says several hundred grocery carts are pulled out each year.
