I had the same thing. First it sounds like a blowdryer and then three red rings.

The funny thing is the 3 rings means that the console is having power issues, you probably kicked the cord and all you need to do is unplug everything and plug in the power breaker again. Easy fix really, now the four rings(Ring of Death) Is when your fucked.
